NDC Push For Job Security For Mopani Miners

| | ,

National Democratic Congress leader Chishimba Kambwili has challenged government to dismiss reports that workers at Mopani Copper Mine will be sent back home after July month end.

Kambwili says even if the Mopani workers have been recalled, the mines will still be placed under care and maintenance by July month end.

Kambwili says Mopani has only moved the date of termination of contract from 29th April to 31st of July 2020 and all contractors have been directed to move from the site by 1st August.

Kambwili has questioned why government is not saying the truth on the matter.

He adds that with Mopani going on care and maintenance, it will have adverse consequences on Zambia’s economy.
