Zambia has recorded nine more cases of the Covid 19 bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 12.

And the country has suspended international flights from Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe airport in Ndola, Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula airport in Livingstone and Mfuwe international airport in Eastern Province effective Thursday midnight.

In his live broadcast address to the nation this morning, President Edgar Lungu explained that 11 out of the 12 cases recorded involve individuals who had travelled abroad and came back into the country while 1 had come into contact with those infected.

The head of state has therefore emphasized that travelers will be allowed into the country but upon screening, those with symptoms will be quarantined while non-essential travels have been banned especially to countries with confirmed cases.
