Ex-Health Minister, Dr. Chituwo, Urges Calm After Covid-19 Touches Zambia

Former Health Brian Minister Brian Chituwo says there is no need for Zambians to panic by calling on government to impose stringent measures such as a lockdown of Lusaka city in view of two coronavirus cases recorded in the country.

Zambia has so far recorded two cases of the covid-19 involving a couple that went on a 10 day vacation in France and are quarantined at an isolation centre in Chilanga district.

Commenting on the development, Dr Chituwo says citizens have to be patient because government has so far managed the pandemic well.

He says a lockdown will depend on the information and surveillance the government undertakes adding that what is cardinal is for citizens to be hygiene conscious all the time.
