The Center For Policy And Development – CTPD has called on the Zambia Revenue Authority to increase tax on Tobacco to 75 percent in order to curb its use.

CTPD Researcher Bright Chizonde says the increase will help government increase its tax avenues and at the same time reduce the consumption.

Chizonde says if there is a higher domestic exercise duty on tobacco, it will increase the cost of production.
