President Edgar Lungu’s press aide Amos Chanda has quit State House citing future political aspirations among the personal reasons.
Chanda announced his decision this afternoon at a press briefing at State House.
The former Zambia Daily Mail news editor has paid glowing tribute to President Lungu, State House staff and his family for according him an opportunity to work at Plot One.
“Last evening I tendered my resignation to His Excellency the President and he has accepted my departure into the private sector.
“I have perused the draft constitution particularly on the requirement for civil servants to vacate office two years ahead of elections and I do not want to be caught up in this clause should I aspire for political office in the future,” said Chanda.
