7th May, 2019
Several weeks ago, I informed the senior leadership and the Executive members of the People’s Alliance for Change (PAC) of my decision to disassociate myself from all internal and external activities of the political party.
With the advent of social media, decisions and actions of this kind are always a subject of rumors, gossip and speculation in this day and age. For this reason, it is only politically, socially and morally responsible to make my actions known publicly to my followers, sympathizers, supporters and the nation at large.
Firstly, I wish to state that I retain utmost respect for the People’s Alliance for Change (PAC) President Mr Andyford Mayele Banda for the indispensable role that he is playing in the introduction of a new era with fresh ideas and issue based approach in Zambian Politics which, in my view, is the indispensable precondition for reconstituting a revolutionary vanguard party in our country.
I would also like to extend my heart of gratitude to entire PAC team and its general membership for giving me a rare opportunity I will never take for granted to represent the party in the last mayoral by-elections.
For my part, I choose to remain a Zambian before any political affiliation and will continue sharing my independent opinions through my interactions on various platforms. I also intend to continue playing an active role in building a better Zambia and would like to use this opportunity to encourage every Zambian; young and old to stand up and fight for a better Zambia.
I choose to own my own political integrity and my concerns for the country (Zambia) that I love dearly and I believe it is the only principled decision that can be made in the circumstances we find ourselves in.
I thank you,
Comrade Petersen Mukubesa Mundia
