Zambia’s popular comedian Thomas Sipalo commonly known as Diffikoti has urged United Party for National Development President Hakainde Hichilema to change and promote democracy in his party.
Diffikoti has observed that people have lost confidence in Hichilema after the resignation of his Party Vice President Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba.
The comedian says the growing tendency by Hichilema to shy away from any challenge at his position has cost the opposition credibility.
Diffikoti says Hichilema should promote democracy or at worst fake it to win back the people’s confidence in his leadership.
In a direct message responding to Hichilema’s reaction to GBM’s departure on social media, Diffikoti urged the opposition official to rise above and change course.
“Koma naimwe mudala muchinge! (You big man must change) Your undemocratic tendacies are so worrying. People have lost confidence in you. Even if you are undemocratic, try to fake democracy in your party for people to gain confidence again. If One challenges you is to be expelled or fired,” wrote Diffikoti.
