Suspended UPND vice-president Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has resigned and rejoined the ruling Patriotic Front.
Addressing a press briefing, GBM carried out a show of hands decision from his supporters to rejoin the ruling party.
GBM outlined a litanty of differences that existed between him and Hichilema accusing him as stubborn and arrogant.
The former defence minister says UPND will never see the inside of State House if the party maintained Hichilema as president.
GBM says part of the reason he was hounded out is because leader Hakainde Hichilema thought he would take over the opposition party at the convention.
The Lusaka businessman has also apologised to President Edgar Lungu for disparaging remarks and insults he showered.
“I am coming in not for a position. I am joining as an ordinary member and want to work closely with you,” he said.
GBM says he wants to teach Hichilema a lesson because he has not been kind to him.
