Roan Defeat A Minor Setback – PF

Pres. Lungu (l) and Nathan Chanda

Patriotic Front Copperbelt Province chairman Nathan Chanda says the party in the province is not shaken by its loss in the recently held Roan parliamentary by-election.

Speaking when he featured On The Pulse Segment Of The Phoenix Breakfast Show, Mr. Chanda says he takes full responsibility of the party’s loss but was however quick to mention that the National Democratic Congress victory does not scare him as the number of votes their candidate polled does not match the over 13, 000 votes he got as Mayor Of The Council in that constituency.

Chanda further says the ruling party is still very formidable in the entire province and will reclaim the roan seat come 2021.

Meanwhile, Chanda, who is also Luanshya Municipal Council Chairperson, has disclosed that money in excess of K40 million is still owed to the Luanshya municipal council by residents.

Chanda says the council has been having challenges collecting revenue from the public as they are used to free services further stating that the council is in the process of conducting sensitization programmes for the general public to correct the notion.
