Drama has continued to unfold in the opposition United Party for National Development – UPND in Northern Province.
This time around, the UPND Provincial spokesperson, John Sampa has warned his embattled provincial chairperson Nathan Ilunga that he remains suspended.
On Friday last week the UPND suspended Mr Ilunga as its provincial chairperson after accusing him of failing to take the party forward.
But in a dramatic turn of events, UPND Secretary General, Stephen Katuka yesterday suspended Kasama District Chairperson Jairos Tembo.
In a letter signed by UPND Secretary General, Stephen Katuka and addressed to Mr. Tembo, dated 14th April, 2019 also made available to Mano News, Mr. Tembo has been suspended for 90 days for gross indiscipline.
Mr. Katuka added that during the three months suspension, Mr. Tembo will NOT participate in any party activities at any level.
Meanwhile, suspended UPND Kasama District Chairperson, Jairos Tembo has described his suspension as null and void.
Mr. Tembo charges that the Secretary General, Mr. Katuka did not follow the right procedure when suspending him.
Mr. Tembo has since maintained that Mr. Nathan ILunga is no longer the Provincial Chairperson for UPND.
