President Edgar Lungu has accepted the Roan Constituency parliamentary by-election defeat.
The President says in as much as it is not the result that he desired , the people have spoken, and that is what democracy calls for.
He has since called for serious introspection within the ruling PF.
The Electoral Commission of Zambia announced the results early Friday which show the opposition NDC with a runaway win.
National Democratic Congress candidate Joseph Chishala polled 8665 while the ruling party candidate PF’s Joel Chibuye Joel managed 5533 in second place.
There were two other participants Mwansa Chama of PAC with 210 while Morgan Banda of UPPZ finished fourth on 143 votes.
Meanwhile, President Lungu has signed into law the national dialogue Bill.
Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations, Amos Chanda says the president assented to the bill on April 9th 2019.
