Kafue Votes Peacefully For Civic Boss

Kafue constituents are voting peacefully for the council chairman.

The Electoral Commission of Zambia reports that polling opened at 06:00 hours today.

Presiding Officer, Paul Chipimo opened Shikoswe Polling Station in Kafue District at 06:00 hours.

Shikoswe polling station, located in Kasenje Ward is the largest in the District with 6 streams and 5,732 registered.

The race for the position of the civic boss is between the ruling Patriotic Front and UPND.

The Kafue Council Chairperson by election was necessitated by the resignation of the incumbent Thomas Zulu from the UPND who joined the Patriotic Front.

The PF is fielding Brigadier General Moono Simakoloyi while Beatrice Kayuni is the opposition UPND candidate in the race for Kafue Council chairmanship.
