Patriotic Front candidate for the Bahati by-election Charles Chalwe has successfully filed his nominations at Senama Council Rest House in Mansa district ahead of the polls on April 11.

Chalwe is confident of posting a landslide victory.

And Bahati Campaign Manager, Hon. Dr. Chitalu Chilufya says his team is more than geared to give the opposition parties that are contesting the Bahati seat a good run for their money, stating that victory for the PF is assured.

Meanwhile, Luapula Province Chairperson, Hon. Nickson Chilangwa has promised peaceful and incidence free campaigns ahead of the elections on slated for April 11, 2019.

The Bahati seat fell vacant after the expulsion of embattled former foreign affairs Minister Harry Kalaba from the Patriotic Front. Kalaba has since shyed away from recontesting the seat.

Other parties whose candidates are expected to file their nominations are the UPPZ, NDC, PAC, UPND and the FDD.

The PF candidate filed his nominations just after 10:00 hours on Thursday.
