The ruling Patriotic Front has petitioned the Sesheke parliamentary bye elections owing to rampant violence, intimidation and brutality by suspected opposition UPND cadres.
In the petition filed in the Lusaka High Court, PF losing candidate Dean Masule has cited UPND winning candidate Romeo Kangombe as a respondent.
Kangombe scooped the election amid widespread violence which led to the sacking of three senior police officer.
During campaign, UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema accused the police of attempting to kill him.
The opposition have since said they will report the ruling Patriotic Front to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for perpetrating violence in the Sesheke by-election.
